Project Overview
As part of CIGI’s ongoing publishing activities, the in-house design team produces working papers, policy briefs, and research reports. Each publication follows CIGI’s established brand guidelines while requiring a distinctive cover concept, clear editorial layouts, and consistent visual communication across print and digital platforms.

The Design Challenge
The challenge was to create engaging, distinctive covers for a wide range of research publications while maintaining CIGI’s established visual identity. Each cover needed to reflect the paper’s subject, incorporate the author’s input where appropriate, and ensure that the title remained clear and readable. The interior layouts also needed to present complex research content in an organized, accessible format.

My Design Approach
For each publication, I explored its central themes and developed three cover concepts in line with CIGI’s brand guidelines. I presented these options to the publications team, where feedback and collaborative review guided the final selection. The selected design was then adapted for the publication cover, website, and newsletter banner.

For the interior pages, I applied consistent typography, clear information hierarchy, and structured layouts to organize text, tables, and figures, prioritizing readability and accessibility.
