Saman Bank | Water Conservation Campaign | 2015

The challenge

The design challenge was to make a large environmental issue feel immediate and personally relevant. The campaign needed to communicate the limits of water resources while giving audiences a clear reason to act. Its message also needed to remain accessible and recognizable across different formats and communication channels.

The Approach

The visual concept combined water with a familiar battery symbol, translating resource depletion into an easily understood image. Falling water levels echoed a draining battery, reinforcing the need to conserve what remains. Paired with direct language and practical conservation messages, this concept formed a consistent visual system across advertising, illustrated calendars, motion graphics, and Saman Bank’s digital and physical communication channels.

Project Overview
Developed in 2015 as a social responsibility initiative for Saman Bank, this campaign addressed water scarcity in Iran. Its central message, “There’s Water, but Not Enough!”, reminded people that water remains available, but its limited supply requires thoughtful management and responsible consumption.

Campaign Strategy
The strategy connected public awareness with practical changes in everyday behaviour. Addressing the general public, particularly individuals and households, the campaign encouraged people to reconsider familiar habits, such as showering, washing and leaving taps running. A simple, memorable message linked the wider issue of water scarcity to actions people could take in their daily lives.
