Saman Bank — New Year Greeting Card

Organization: Saman Bank

Project Type: Concept Development, Packaging Design & Print Design

Project Overview
Saman Bank commissioned a New Year greeting card to celebrate the holiday season. The project offered an opportunity to move beyond a traditional printed card and create a memorable experience through creative packaging, dimensional design, and thoughtful presentation.

The Challenge
The challenge was to transform a conventional greeting card into a distinctive and engaging piece that communicated the warmth of the holiday season while reflecting Saman Bank’s brand identity. The design needed to balance creativity, functionality, and brand visibility, creating something recipients would want to keep and display beyond the holiday season.

My Approach
I reimagined the greeting card as a layered, three-dimensional keepsake that invited recipients to discover its elements step by step. The experience began with custom packaging and a printed greeting on a translucent paper layer, gradually revealing a dimensional card beneath.

Using multiple precision-cut paper layers, I created a winter scene inspired by the holiday season. The card was designed to stand independently on a desk, extending its purpose beyond a seasonal greeting into a decorative object.

I also considered how the bank’s branding would transition throughout the experience. The logo appeared prominently in blue on the outer packaging, while the final decorative piece featured a subtle, colourless embossed logo. This maintained a connection to the bank’s identity without overwhelming the design, making the card more suitable for personal display.

This approach combined visual storytelling, paper engineering, and thoughtful branding to transform a simple greeting into a memorable physical experience.
